Kevin Wilkins Electrical Contractors were tasked with installing an electric vehicle (EV) charging point at a residential property in Winton, Bournemouth. This entailed installing all cabling and protective equipment associated with the electric car charging unit.
We opted to fit the tethered Pod Point Solo 3, as we felt this was the optimal choice for the new resident for now, as well as the foreseeable future. This includes in part to the EV charging unit’s comparatively fast and economical charging speeds – it can charge an EV up to 10 times faster than a 3-pin plug.
What’s more, through its EV smart charging features, the new homeowner will be able to monitor tariff costs and schedule charging to take advantage of cheaper tariff rates, all at the touch of a button via the Pod Point App. The Pod Point Solo 3 also boasts a sleek polycarbonate oval design.
Additionally, its versatility means it’s great for the future – the charging point is compatible with all plug-in vehicles, should the new homeowner opt to change the EV or add another one to the household.
After the project was given the go-ahead, we installed and mounted the EV Charging point at the rear of the residential driveway, as this was identified as the best location to easily, effectively and efficiently charge the resident’s new electric car. The customer was pleased with the installation, signing off the project accordingly.
